With 3 people dead and hundreds of others injured, we still have no answers as to who the culprit is behind these two bombings. Families are mourning and millions are praying for the fast healing of everyone involved.
Wednesday morning law officials told CNN that the lid to a pressure cooker was thought to have been used in the bombing. The lid was found on the roof near the horrific scene. Also found at the scene were charred wire attached to a battery, parts of a circuit board, a nail, ball bearing and BB's intended as deadly shrapnel.
While these clues will certainly help with the investigation, they did nothing to help Investigators determine if this attack was foreign or domestic.
In July 1996, Eric Rudolph planted a similar bomb at Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park during the Summer Olympics killing 1, injuring 111 more and causing one person to have a heart attack. Rudolph, a carpenter and handyman, had detonated three pipe bombs inside an ALICE Pack. Motivated by the government's sanctioning of abortion on demand, Rudolph wanted to force the cancellation of the Olympics. Could this be a Copy Cat Bomber?
The US government has warned before that a pressure cooker could be turned into a bomb. So what does this mean for people who like to do home canning so they are prepared for disasters?
- Bombs = Are already outlawed.
- School/Theater Shootings = The movement for gun confiscation and gun bans all over the United states.
- Pressure cookers used in bombs = The ban of pressure cookers?
Surely not!! Without planting explosives in them you can't turn a pressure cooker into a bomb by canning peas. This is one more incident that proves a terrorist will always find a way to make his/her statement, no matter the cause or what the law says.
Medical personnel reports that there were people with 10-40 small round pieces of metal embedded inside the victims bodies. Dr. Ron Walls also said one patient had more than 12 carpenter-type nails.
"There is no question some of these objects were implanted in the device for the purpose of being exploded forward," he said.

Investigators and authorities are sorting through more than 2,000 tips, video footage, photo graphs and evidence but are still asking for your help in providing images and possible leads to the person(s) responsible for this tragic form of murder. CNN.com states;
"Someone knows who did this," said Rick DesLauriers, the special agent in charge of the FBI's Boston office. "Cooperation from the community will play a crucial role in this investigation."
"We really don't know if it's a foreign or domestic threat," said Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee. "We don't know whether this was a homegrown terrorist or part of a wider conspiracy."
A "lone wolf" attacker could be particularly difficult to identify.
"This is what you worry about the most," a source with knowledge of the investigation said. "No trail, no intelligence."
"Boston is not going to be intimidated by this," said U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, a former U.S. senator from Massachusetts, in testimony to the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday. "But we are going to find out who did this. The police work being done is extraordinary. The FBI is remarkable. There is a great deal of forensic evidence. We are hopeful we can bring people to justice."
DesLauriers is asking anyone with any knowledge to come forward. Someone you may know that has talked about explosives or targeting an event like the marathon in the last year or two, even jokingly. Or if you noticed anyone carrying an unusually heavy back pack at the event.
Despite what this bomber has done, we are all still human beings and for the sake of the families, if you have any information, please come forward and shed some light on what you know. This person(s) should be brought to justice for this crime.
